Spiritual lessons at the Super Bowl.

February 5, 2018

Good morning, beautiful people. I’m not much of a Super Bowl person (I’m more into Super Bowl food and trying to make a little bit of money on it through FanDuel bets, than the actual game), but I can’t help but be inspired by the story of Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles.

If you’re not a football person either, here’s the story: Foles loved football. He played hard and he played well. He became part of that fraction of an infinitesimal percent who make it all the way to the big leagues. And then things got interesting.

He got injured. He got traded. He got fired. Worst of all, he lost his love for the game. At the age of 26, he considered retiring from pro football completely. What to do? Simple: He went camping.

Sometimes you have to go where you can get quiet and be in stillness. That’s what Foles did. He went camping, he prayed and meditated, and what he found was that it wasn’t quite time to retire just yet.

Fast forward past lots of dramatic football stuff to last night, where Foles humbly received the Vince Lombardi trophy after the Eagles won the Super Bowl.

So what does football have to do with Yoga? Sutra 1.14, my beautiful friends: Don’t give up. When the odds are against you and you’re wondering whether you should go on, get quiet; look within; and act on the guidance you hear in your heart. It worked for Foles. I go more into how to access that guidance in Yoga Mind: Journey Beyond the Physical.

What’s your passion? Have you come up against obstacles? Let’s talk about it when we do #YogaMindOnline, coming soon. You’ll learn how to access your own intuition and find your own path, and you’ll have a whole Sangha full of support. (And it’s free!)

I can’t wait to take this journey with you, divine lights. Have a beautiful day.
