Surrender, and win.

Good morning, beautiful people. The idea of surrender is something that, in our culture, we equate with losing. In Yoga and other spiritual paths, surrender is about winning.

Surrender means releasing old ideas and habits that hold us back from being our truest, and therefore best, selves. It’s not weak; surrendering is actually the strongest, most powerful thing you can do on your own behalf.

And it’s not about just “letting go” of things that hold you back. If we could do that, we’d have already done it.

Effective surrender is about dealing with issues so we can then release them because we see they’re not useful anymore. It’s like Swedish Death Cleaning for the soul.

There’s a Yoga tool called Ishvara Pranidhana that focuses on surrender of old ideas about yourself that may or may not have been true at some point in your life, but that are no longer useful (if they ever were).

I take you through how to do this in Yoga Mind, coming out this month (get your copy here). We’ll get ready to surrender the stuff that’s keeping you from being your best and truest self. We’ll do the #YogaMindOnline program (it’s free; you just need the book to follow along) and do that spiritual spring cleaning. And we’ll do it together.

What do you want to let go of? What’s keeping your divine light from shining more brightly?

Have a good day, beautiful people.
