Namaste (I bow to the divine light within you).
“Who are you?” is the question Yoga asks us, meaning, about our true spiritual identities. But first we usually answer with a bunch of things that are easier to name. So, I’m the author of Cherries in Winter: My Family’s Recipes for Hope in Hard Times, among other books. I’m a former senior editor of O, the Oprah Magazine. My writing has been featured in the Oprah Magazine and Good Housekeeping, Jane, Latina, Details, Harper’s Bazaar, Rolling Stone, and many others, and on Oprah.com, the Huffington Post, and other websites. I’ve been on The Today Show, the Early Show, NPR, and other media.
I’m a certified Yoga instructor and Yoga teacher trainer. I’m the creator of the iTunes app Take A Yoga Break, a series of Yoga-based moves to counteract the harmful effects of long periods of sitting.
“You can’t stop the waves, but you can learn how to surf.”
I’m an artist, I’m a daughter, a wife, a sister, a student… Mostly, though, I am like you: a spiritual surfer, learning how to ride the waves of life.
Let’s use the spiritual tools of Yoga to learn how to ride them together. Connect with me on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, and email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
